At the onset, a routing is chosen to move the freight from point A to point B (airport-to-airport) based on service standards and cost savings for our customer. In addition to commercial airlines, P.W.D. also uses airline freighters (i.e.exclusive cargo handlers), commuter airlines and charter services - whatever is best for the individual situation. Various priority services are available to guarantee lane segment transit times. When the normal carrier choice is backlogged, alternate routings are used to prevent unacceptable transit delays. If a shipment is held up at a transfer airport, P.W.D. representatives will ensure the freight is "pulled" and tendered to an appropriate alternate carrier. On occasion a service failure occurs while freight is already in transit. P.W.D. will quickly and honestly advise you, the shipping customer. We confer with you on appropriate alternatives. P.W.D. then takes direct action to resolve the problem.
